nuu Knogg

The Nuu Knogg is a classic 70’s egg shape with a slightly straighter tail for added drive.

Looking for a craft that’ll spice up those sub-par sessions? The Bonza inspired Nuu Knogg could be the board for you. We caught up with shaper Marcie O’Neill to get the lowdown on grooviness going mainstream, and why it’s good for your surfing:

“Nowadays everyone’s riding different boards, and it’s great. A while ago, only a few guys were experimenting
and riding shapes like the Knogg. It wasn’t normal to see a lot of different boards in the water. Everyone’s caught on now though – you don’t need a 6’1” thruster to have a good surf.

In fact, you’re probably better off having something eggy like this… especially in summer. It’s a fast and fat slab that’ll get you up and moving.”

“The idea of shaping all-rounders and a one board quiver is well and truly dead, it’s all about experimenting and having the right board for the conditions. Some people might think a board like this is just for guys who want to look groovy, but that’s their loss.

This is a board for someone who wants to catch a lot of waves and get a different kind of buzz when conditions aren’t perfect. So basically anyone who wants to have fun.”

Egg outline with a slightly straighter tail template for added drive neatly tucked into a soft diamond tail.

Flat and fast with a little flip in the nose which as well as being functional (anti nose dive and easy foam climbs),is a nod to early 70’s eggs.

A fuller rail profile complements the flatter rocker eliminating “rail catch” Large soft rail tuck feeds into deep double concave into elevated rounded V. This keeps the water moving a gives the Nuu Knogg Egg exceptional speed and ‘LIFE’.

Excellent all-rounder. Great groveller but performance contours and speed mean super fun in quality waves.

The boards are designed with stringer EPS core and laminated using epoxy instead of polyester, so they are stronger and have better flex and “memory” compared to your traditional PU. Better for the environment as epoxy uses fewer toxins.
